WELCOME TO MALENY FEIJOA'S
We are Kim and George and we are Maleny Feijoa's
We both orginally came from New Zealand and have great memories of sitting under a Feijoa tree as kids eating Feijoa's to we were sick.
I (Kim) have always dreamed of having a farm and in 2014 after looking for a very long time we came across a property in Maleny. It was like a piece of New Zealand sitting in the sunshine Coast Hinterland with it's green rolling hills, dairy farms and just felt like home.
The decision to grow Feijoa's was any easy one. As Kiwi expats we missed Feijoa's! The climate was perfect for Feijoa growing and the beautiful fertile red volcanic soil has Feijoa's thriving here!
It is important to us to produce Feijoa's as sustainably as possible.
We don't use any chemicals on our trees and use fruit fly netting to protect them from fruitflies, birds and possums.
The netting also reduces evaporation reducing how often we need to irrigate. Although with an avearge anual rainfall of 1.8m we don't need to irrigate to often.
Producing high quality tasty Feijoa's is our mission. When deciding to farm Feijoa's it was important to us to provide Feijoa's direct to the public. We wanted to be able to provide the freshest posible Feijoa's with out the middle man markup. As we are only a small farm of 300 trees we have been able to keep our costs down, which means a better price for our customers
What we enjoyed over the years is meeting some amazing customers and seeing them come back every year makes all the hard work so worth it.
